I have the same "problem" in google webmaster tool. I have duplicated meta descriptions and duplicated title tags because all my products are listed in more than one category. And I really don't know if it matters because OpenCart puts the "canonica"l tag in every product page.

Lo que menciona Cofran es muy importante. Incluso debes de tener en mente cuales son las frases para las cuales posicionar tu sitio y optimizarlo para ellas. ¿Como?. Incluyendolas en tu texto de bienvenido en las etiquetas meta-title y meta-description, los headers, en los parrafos, etc.
