Re: URL Alias

Thanks for the update Daniel.

Any idea of a timescale for this? Looks like i'll have to release with what i've got and then sort out 301 redirects for the relevant URLS.

Re: URL Alias

Any ideas when a fix for this might be available?

I'm almost ready to release a live shop using opencart but i really need 'pretty' SEO friendly URLS.

Re: How to modify INFORMATION & URL Alias...

Poseidon are you getting 404 errors when visiting the new pages? Or are the 'pretty' URLs not working at all?

Which version of Opencart are you using?

Re: Is opencart Stable and usable?

i think there are some minor outstanding bug fixes coming, the only larger one i am aware of is that url aliases are not working in the current version (0.7.6.1). but the cart will still operate fine with this feature disabled (which it is by default). SEO friendly URLS are pretty much my only crit...

Re: Is opencart Stable and usable?

Thanks for the replies guys. I have worked extensively with an older version of Opencart, including reskinning etc, and that project is still in the pipeline. What i'm looking for now is just to install a quick and simple cart software that would work out of the box so to speak. I'll give it a bash ...

Is opencart Stable and usable?

Just wondering is there a stable, and fully functional version of opencart available?

The last version i used 7.2 i think had a few bugs.

I'm looking to throw up a quick ecommerce site and opencart fits the bill but i can't find many / any live shops!

Actually, i'll think you find that the search engines do actually indexed sites and pages that are commented out using this method. Try it for yourself....

Similar Products

A similar products option would be great.

An automated version, using SQL matches perhaps? and a manually select option would be great.

Best Sellers

I'd like to integrate a small section that would appear in a box across the whole site that shows the best selling products. Ideally for my shop this would be a simple text box displaying 5 - 10 products.

Can anyone code a simple hack / mod?

If not i'll just hard code it, rather than it be dynamic.

Re: Error: register_globals is enabled!

Creat a file called php.ini and insert the following in it:

Code: Select all

register_globals=off
You'll need this in your cart's root directory and the admin directory at a mimimum, but for general security its best to have registered globals off full stop.

Re: General Observation

This could be one of the causes....

http://www.opencart.com/robots.txt should be a valid .txt page, even if its blank (which allows all areas of the site to be indexed...)

Is'nt that for the copyright in the footer? Not for the 'Powered by Opencart' in the title tag of the homepage?
