Re: Upgrading from 1.4.8 to 1.4.9.3

In some aces Filezilla does not update some files due to their time-stamp or they could bet set to read-only. I have queried in the FileZilla forum as to why you are not at least prompted to overwrite files. It should never allow you to upload files without asking you IMHO. BTW - Does anyone know h...

Re: Moving Website To New Domain

Hmm... I referred you to an old post: the general principles hold for any local server, but maybe Easywamp is not the good choice it was 2 years ago? ??? Like openmycart.com, I use Xampp. It's a question of what works for you: I would not assume you did anything wrong. Ok. I see a lot of props for ...

Re: Restore Database ?

nevermind I figured it. Keether - I wish you had posted exactly how you "figured it". On the phpMyAdmin main page - Click on the 'SQL' tab at the top and browse to the location of your backup file. Then select 'Go' from the tab at the bottom right corner of the screen - you may need to em...

Re: Upgrading from 1.4.8 to 1.4.9.3

correct. index.php and admin/index.php to be exact You and I2Paq2 were correct. I opened up both index.phps and they had "1.4.8." in them. Any reason why selecting and dragging all the 1.4.9.3 folders (Filezilla) to my public_html folder did not overwrite the pre-existing 1.4.8 index.phps...

Upgrading from 1.4.8 to 1.4.9.3

I followed the install instructions in the 1.4.9.3 upgrade.txt file, and I loaded the /admin page in Step 9 and I see that it still says "Version 1.4.8" at the bottom. Any idea where I went wrong?

Re: Moving Website To New Domain - question about config.php

That's right, use your PC as a server - install something like XAMPP or WAMP (Windows), or MAMP(for Macs). Then you can amend/test files without the hassle of uploading them to a web host. You can also do upgrades and other tricky work, without risk to a live site. Much less scary IMHO :) Here's a ...

Re: Open Cart Administrator Password Reset tool

Mind if I call you "JayGenius" from now on? sure, better than what people normally call me :P BTW - Any idea why my 1.4.7 never had an .htaccess.txt file? I suppose when I do successfully update to 1.4.9.3 I will have one then? It should be in the "upload" folder of your 1.4.7 d...

Re: Moving Website To New Domain - question about config.php

It sounds like you now have two databases - you could check this in phpmyadmin - the database that was created on the new server when you installed OpenCart there, and the one you imported from the backup from your old server. You need to change something in one of those config files to point to th...

Re: Can't log into admin

I recently attempted to upgrade from OC 1.4.8 to 1.4.9.3 and had just dragged the files into the public_html folder using Smart FTP Client. The yootube video I was following abrubtly ended and thinking I was done. I tried to login to my /admin and can't anymore. I attempted to follow your instructio...
