Re: Can't install modification, getting "Modification requires a unique ID code!" error.
I would also point out that I got this message as well due to having an illegal character in the <link></link> section of the header.
Removed the link and everything worked fine!

Re: Site does not work on localhost(xampp)
You either need to run an older copy of PHP on your localhost (should be a setting in XAMPS) or update your copy of VQMOD to the latest version.

Re: phpmyadmin password reset not working
Looks like your homepage also has a fatal error on it as it stops loading after the menu. Once you get into your admin panel check the error logs.

Re: I will be able to create cloud ecommerce website?
This is what Softaculous does via cPanel and others.

Re: Where are the API guidelines?
Don't get me wrong - I am very keen on OpenCart (and it being free!) but is there no OpenSource/community supported documentation area ... I did find old links to wiki.opencarthelp.com but the site has been taken down. It just seems that OpenCart is over reliant on some dedicated forum users to keep...

Where are the API guidelines?
I am looking to integrate OpenCart with the SquareUp POS and I am looking for the API guide.
All I can find is this: http://docs.opencart.com/system/users/api/
Is OC really this badly documented?

Have you tried to set up a subdomain?
eg. testsite.yourdomain.com and redirected this subdomain to the test directory.
