Re: Extensions - some basic questions

thanks John. Was thinking of getting some OC extensions for now, but not sure on the license changes. Won't be using any for now as I'm focusing on my WooCommerce powered store (http://www.techgarage.my) :) Here's some questions I'm unsure of 1) Hearing our circumstance, should we get some extension...

Re: Extensions - some basic questions

Just to be clear, once OpenCart switches to a 1-year license, all purchases at that time would be given a 1-year license from that date. So you would still have to purchase another license after that 1-year period was up. (At least, that was my understanding when Daniel announced it.) The most comm...

Re: 2.0 Official has been released!

I'm discovering things like renamed core files, which affect internal function usage. It was changed 15 days ago OK, you're right -- this was my issue, sorry. I figured out what happened: I had overwritten the files during beta testing, so the old versions were still present when I was testing (mea...

Re: Extension Store Discussion & Feedback

Was just browsing this post, when I realised that OpenCart extensions aren't GPL. Ah, now I know :) Btw, the extension store is indeed in a mess. Could we have something more like CodeCanyon or other Envato stores? while it's cool to have a grid view of products, it's hard to see the following 1) Au...

Re: Extension Store Update IMPORTANT!!

Oh btw, think about it. If you implement yearly renewals without considering the number of sites 1) Developers can afford it. They pass the cost to the customers. Startups or small time businesses like your mom & pop shop can't, or they'll find it harder 2) Most of your support tickets would eit...

I'm new to OpenCart (not really, but new to posting on the forum), and have been a WooCommerce / Wordpress user for sometime. As such, in Wordpress, many of the following are industry practice, a...

Re: Extensions - some basic questions

ah, do you have the link to that announcement? Hmm, if the prices are low, and the renewal rate isn't 100%, but somewhere like 50%, why not? But otherwise, wouldn't grandfathering older customers be good?

Re: Extensions - some basic questions

ah, guess i better buy some extensions before they go to the 1 year licensing? :) I bought 98% of my WooCommerce licenses while they were on lifetime, but Woocommerce extensions weren't cheap. Some were going for $99. However, it was still more affordable than Prestashop and Magento, which had long ...

Re: Extensions - some basic questions

1) Would we get updates for the newest version of OC? 2) Do we need to pay after awhile (like a year or so?) This depends on the Seller and on the kind of 'Deal' you made. Sellers come and go, as well... 3) Are there any recommended extensions,............. You'll need to click yourselfs trough the...
