Re: Paypal Standard Total Incorrect

FWIW guys, I'd take the 5 minutes it takes and learn how to use vqmod. Otherwise when you go to upgrade, you are going to loose all of your modifications...probably breaking your store (I speak from personal experience here :) ).

Re: CSS Styled Template

The number of columns is determined on where you place the modules. As long as you don't place modules in both the left and right columns, it will only be a two column layout.

Re: Is there an extension to handle different option costs/p

What version of Open Cart are you running? In atleast v.1.5 you can associate additional cost with options. So when you set up your options, you can set your base price tot he cost of the small belt, then the medium option you would set to 4.00 (that will add $4.00 to the price if they choose medium...

Re: MyBB

Everyone does know where MyBB came from right??? Does it make you wonder why it looks just like vBulletin 3.8??? Sorry, but I can't support stolen software :) As much as I hate phpbb, I'm glad to see OC not using MyBB.

Re: Magento explains performance.

how would anyone actually know what the top performing stores are on a daily basis. I'm not sure what you're trying to get at??? If you're wondering how you come up with those numbers, those sites are all monitored very heavily by third parties and the report is published. Everything is watched ver...

Re: Magento explains performance.

As afar as CMS goes, go take a peak at ANY major e-commerce store ok lets just take #1 amazon where's their cms? I don't remember seeing any cms type pages on amazon. Read on...nearly every link in their footer is a page that's managed by some type of CMS. Like I said before, a CMS is not a blog.

Re: Magento explains performance.

Out curiosity, what programming language does your company's retail site use? (don't need to know the name of the store). That's kind of a trick question. You can say Java, but our "site" entails dozens of classes of servers all doing different things and even the same class of server wil...

@ top 25 stores That would be interesting to see. As soon as I get the report for tonight, I'll post it up. So we're all saying the same thing then? Different solutions for different needs :) FWIW, there's no "hard on" for Magento. Infact there's a lot I don't like about Magento too, usab...

I can't think of one that has a CMS. If they have one I've not found it so its certainly no major feature. http://www.bestbuy.com http://www.jcpenney.com http://www.walmart.com http://www.target.com http://www.amazon.com Seriously??? Look at the footer of every one of those, those pages are all man...

Re: Magento explains performance.

Why should it invalidate the rest of my post? IF your code is slow, that is problem! IF your sql queries are the problem why should I have to go in and fix them? If your framework is pokey, why should I have to tune a server just to make it go faster? Most people use virtual hosting with crap loads...

Re: Magento explains performance.

I don't think he's kidding at all.. sure you can tune it a bit but that shouldn't affect what scripts run on it.. and yea.. most people just run paid hosting.. what's your point? My point is, if you're running your store on shared hosting, a full solution (like Magento) is probably not needed. As a...

Surely you're kidding, right? IMO, this invalidates the rest of your post. It's not even worth anyones time to try to reply. Have you EVER setup a server of any kind or do you just rely on paid hosting?

Re: Upgrade Suggestion

I LOVE the idea of VirtualQMod, I'm playing with it now.

I was trying one of the examples (Drop down on product page) and it makes it so my product pages no longer load, just a white page...still playing. :)
