Re: URL search with &

So you have the rewrite in .htaccess to temporarily fix incoming & to &? OK, just remember that's only a temporary fix. As to where the problem lies, it's in your PHP code somewhere , probably in an extension or custom code. What OC version are you at, and what extensions are installed? If you w...

Re: HTTP 500 error when trying to edit store setting OC 2.3

You should ask your host if they upgraded anything recently, or did anything that might cause incompatibilities. While awaiting their reply, go through the list I supplied earlier, and especially check for things in all .htaccess and php.ini files that might be obsolete. Also check your site file ti...

Re: URL search with &

Well, naive users might get the impression that the proper permanent fix is to futz it in .htaccess to convert & to &, while real programmers know that this is at best a temporary workaround, and the offending code needs to be fixed. I just wanted to clarify that point. You need to be careful in...

Re: GDPR EU Law Cookies 2018

From the other side of the Pond, it sounds like much ado about nothing (to coin a phrase ;) ). But, bureaucrats will be bureaucrats, and need to find something to do to justify their existence... Anyway, my understanding is that (session) cookies that are necessary for the basic function of a site a...

Re: URL search with &

Even better, find out why the & in the assembled URL is being converted somewhere to a &. and fix it (perhaps an unnecessary or too-late htmlentities() or htmlspecialchars() call? urlencode() might be a better choice). The URL produced should have & in it instead of &, so it's better to fix ...

Re: Can't edit orders after a change to https (SSL usage)

I don't know if it has anything to do with the reported error, but I do see a couple of problems in your code: RewriteCond {HTTP_HOST} domainname\.com [NC] RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80 RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.domainname.com/$1 [R,L] 1) You are testing for a missing www. in the domain (host n...

Re: HTTP 500 error when trying to edit store setting OC 2.3

If anything you try to do gives a 500 error, suspect that the host has upgraded PHP and/or the server, and something you have in .htaccess or php.ini may no longer be valid. This can include settings like Options and register_globals, as well as php_value and php_flag (your old server was very old)....

Re: Internal Server Error

I have the same problem, but not with installation if not with a store of 2 years of operation Why do you think it has something to do with MySQL? I don't see anything in the message about that. suPHP is a system security system, so if it's getting errors, that is a serious problem. This is two dif...

Re: you don't have permission to access /admin/index.php on this server. opencart 2.3.0.2

Does this affect only the admin area, or is the customer-facing (store) side also not working? Did it work before, and if so, are you aware of ANY changes or upgrades you or your host made since then? Is this only mail functions that cause this error, or any operation in the admin side? Did you chan...

Re: Bullet Points -Unordered List won't go away

I've never seen a WYSIWYG editor that didn't let you simply press Enter at the start of a new (empty) bullet, and that ends the list. Note that it's two Enters in a row: one to end the current item, and one to break out of the list by entering an empty item. Is your editor modified in some way? Wors...

Re: How can i download my entire opencart website to my Localhost?

What are you referring to as "what is the system gives me by default"? Configuration entries with single \'s, or something else? Just because the "system" provides it, doesn't mean it's correct! The author of the code may not have anticipated someone doing what you're doing. Yes, you would be best o...

Re: How can i download my entire opencart website to my Localhost?

You showed some configuration entries similar to define('DIR_SYSTEM', 'C:\xampp\htdocs\open1.5.6.1/system/'); You should be aware that backslashes \ usually need to be doubled up \\ or the text won't be right. Add: things like \x may be ignored, or just the \ may be ignored, or you may be saved by t...

Re: Best way to change "postcode" to "zipcode"?

It's easy to search all your files for an expression. In Linux (such as on most servers): grep -r -i "postcode" * (the recursion flag may vary on different flavors, or you may even have to use find ) and on Windows (such as your site backup on your PC): findstr /si /c:"postcode" *.* . It's a sign of...

Re: How to enable Https instead of http

This would be cleaner: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !on [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\. It's possible you...

Re: Autonomous Quantity_Bug Maybe?

Re: Any way to change US state to ISO?

I'm not sure ISO defines any US states, but there are standard two letter Postal Service (mail) codes for each state -- is that what PP is looking for? Is someone typing in "New York" instead of "NY" and it's being rejected? The best way to handle this is (if the country is US) to use a drop-down se...

Re: price per square feet, but pay per box and sold in pallet

Would a customer really buy by area (SF) or would they buy the number of tiles? I did some tiling recently, and needed to figure the grid position and tile size to get the number of tiles (+ expected wastage) to buy. This translated to X number of boxes. It was a small job, so buying a few loose til...

Re: Help: Session Exchange. What?

In another cart (osC), I've heard of session-leakage problems due to use of old PHP versions with newer application code (or was it vice-versa? anyway...). You might want to upgrade your PHP to a reasonably current level (5.6 or higher) if you're running on something downlevel. Just check first what...

Re: Change shipping address form to textbox input for customer

It sounds like what you're asking for is a much more "free form" shipping address entry (which may be different from a billing/payment address entry). Perhaps it could be done with an additional "shipping instructions" text box entry, and maybe a flag (radio button or check box) to use that text ins...
