Re: Do Developers have the right to delete legitimate commen

Hi Jonathan, sorry to hear you had a similar problem and it seems to be the way the extension section is run. I use Joomla quite a bit and also php scripts so rely on previous comments to decide whether or not to purchase something. All comments are left visible. Never seen this 'deleted comments' t...

Re: OpenCart 1.5.4 Released!

Here's an idea. Perhaps a programmer out there could make some money on the side and create a single patch to fix all the bugs to date on v1.5.4.1 and the sell it as an extension on the OC site or their own site. I'm positive that those of us that just want to run a store and don't have either the k...

Re: Do Developers have the right to delete legitimate commen

Ryan, look you have my complaint all wrong. *** It's not about the customization *** so please don't keep bringing it up. If you take the time to read my posts here you'll see it's about the 'deletion of the actual comments' on the extensions page which belongs to the official Open Cart website. It'...

Re: Do Developers have the right to delete legitimate commen

Your right, I do want to complain which is why I'm wasting my own good time with this issue. I have two sites to build and a virtual tour to complete and have very little time to indulge in a 'soapbox'. I have no other way to express my disapproval and I'm hoping that if I take the time and complain...

Re: Do Developers have the right to delete legitimate commen

My post isn't about the custom work ??? The custom work was just something that was included in the reply that was made to my original comment. If your going to buy something.... say a new computer processor or a new digital camera, you don't just rush to the nearest website or store with your cred...

Re: Do Developers have the right to delete legitimate commen

Thanks for the replies (from developers) ;-) I didn't want to lean towards the cost of the extensions as it's not the point of my post. I certainly understand the true cost of time sat in front of the computer. Things take time . Since posting my comments and on this forum I've eventually worked out...

Re: Do Developers have the right to delete legitimate commen

Hey, I did apologize up front for the lengthy post as I do like to be thorough. It was there for anyone that wants to read the details, anyone else can skim though ;-) I agree there's times when you have to delete comments but in this case the extension was added two months ago and there's only 3 co...

Do Developers have the right to delete legitimate comments?

As a paying customer for Open Cart extensions, (and I have quite a few for various websites) if I see an extension that looks like it will perform to my needs I visit the extension page, make sure of the compatibility, read the documentation and most importantly read the comments.... good and bad. I...

Re: [RELEASED] Template/CSS Overrides

Demo appears to be down again.

'The page you requested cannot be found!'

Any chance you can sort it so I can see what this looks like?

Thanks

Re: 1 product different sizes

How about something like this? http://www.tropicscene.com or this product in particular with the option choice. http://www.tropicscene.com/standard-size-images/Bodyboarder-Big-Beach-Maui-Hawaii Doing it this way you don't actually set a product price as it just makes things complicated, well for my ...

Re: Adding specific categories to home page?

Hey, at least if you did it yourself you won't have to be worried about whether or not your purchased mod will be updated to match newer OC versions. I was under the impression you only had a few specific category links to add so wouldn't have taken you long. Just duplicate the first image/link you ...

Re: Adding specific categories to home page?

Could you not just manually create the text and images for those categories you want and just turn them both into links? Example: Image goes here View Standard Size images and just make the above text and image point to http://www.tropicscene.com/standard-size-images or obviously your own category Y...

Re: Add Additional Tab + Compatible w/ Export/Import Tool

Here's the tab in action. I named it ' View Size on Wall ' and then added images applicable to the sizes available for that print/Canvas. http://www.tropicscene.com/standard-size-images/Surfboards-and-Palm-Leaves-02 Making these shopping carts seem never ending although still enjoying it ;) Andrew

Re: Add Additional Tab + Compatible w/ Export/Import Tool

Hi, I just searched for 'cloning' and found various results. Mostly 'cloning categories and information'. It then occurred to me that the 'export.php' file from the free mod would also need attacking as the new information obviously has to be accounted for regarding DB tables etc. I'll go through it...

Re: Add Additional Tab + Compatible w/ Export/Import Tool

That's exactly the problem I noticed after exporting my products, doing a find and replace in excel to change one piece of text and then importing it all back in. Unfortunately I lost the extra tab that I had created for each product.(Purchased Mod) After shouting multiple swear words I began the pr...

Re: OpenCart 1.5.1.3 Bug Thread

xsecrets - I don't really know anything about ajax calls and just couldn't understand why this issue would appear. Does the Quantity figure to the right of the Option Value make a difference to the speed the information is loaded on the page? If so perhaps if I just set the quantity to 2 for each o...

Re: OpenCart 1.5.1.3 Bug Thread

Thanks TechSitement. Unfortunately the damn thing caught me out again after I posted my initial bug note. I changed the product images for about 25 products and 6 of them ended up with missing options. just because I didn't think to check them. Can anyone please let me know if this will be addressed...

Re: OpenCart 1.5.1.3 Bug Thread

I seem to be having a lot of problems with the Product options . Each of my products has a select list with 8 choices. As it all looked good I used the first product as a template and created 70 more products and just changed the product name, Model etc. I just noticed that quite a few of these prod...

Re: Custom template for product page

Videosurfer , try this mod as it will save you a hell of a lot of brain power for just $15. http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension/info&extension_id=2359&filter_search=Multiple%20Template&sort=e.date_modified&order=DESC I just used it to make a different layout for some wide ph...

Re: When are files in image\cache\ overwritten?

Thanks for the quick answer. That's excellent news then as what ever I put in there stays put.

I noticed that the auto re -sized images some times look a little rough in the category listing view or product page bit if I do them properly in Photoshop then I'm good to go.
