In my case the sulution was: It appeared that in both config.php files (in root and admin dirctories) all the entries (including /image) were: /..../...../provider-name/user-name/domain-name/htdocs//image/') - meaning two // instead of one /. Possibly it is the bug in the OpenCart installation scrip...

problem solved: It appeared that in both config.php files all the entries (including /image) were: /..../...../provider-name/user-name/domain-name/htdocs//image/') - meaning two // instead of one /. Possibly it is the bug in the Open Cart installation script. I've changed ALL // to / in both files. ...

Same thing.
Images not seen right after installation. Empty places in products' pages. Image browser doesn't let to access any directories also.
The path in config files checked - they are OK = ......../image
Reinstalled CMS twice from scratch - same result.
Need help!
