Re: Attempted Theft of the OpenCart Project!
Agree with i2paq - not a fan of this layout, it makes the resource very hard to use.
Something much more compact would be better

Re: PayPal Security Changes and OpenCart PayPal Extensions
Thank you. It seems that even Paypal didn't know if the 'Immediate Attention' email so many of us received today was legitimate or not, and therefore gave conflicting advice. But their twitter feed pointed to this thread on the community forum https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/About-Business/PayPa...

Re: PayPal Security Changes and OpenCart PayPal Extensions
I think you are right.
Putting on my stooopid person hat, because although it's a legitimate looking mail - PayPal key, correct username etc - I do not think the mail was legitimate.

They emailed me this morning.
The installation concerned is old now, v1.4, so this could be fun

Re: CONFIG files in 1.5.6 not same as 1.5.1?
If you mean a config file in a fresh, yet to be installed copy of 1.5.6, it's 0kb because it's blank. Config files are written to during installation.
If it shows 0kb after installation, something went wrong.

Re: New OpenCart Site
Liking the new look. Very smart all round. ...There's an apostrophe to lose on the front page slideshow- Thousand's s/be Thousands. Yeah, I'm pedantic... ;) Design of extensions section is great for buyers, and the banners very eyecatching. Though I agree with avvici's Fri 13th post, ie the descript...

Re: Installing SSL on v. 1.4.9.4
..... Is it normal? I have only to configure one file (admin/config.php) on 1.4.9.4? Thank you again Yes, that is all you have to do for 1.4x installations - select 'use SSL:yes' in the admin panel, and optionally change the admin/config, as you describe. The procedure changed for the 1.5x series.

Re: SSL Setup
If your shop is working as you expect, I can see no reason to worry. You can check somewhere like this to ensure your SSL cert is installed correctly: http://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html - Though problems with cert installation are rare. More common is insecure content. There are various ways...

Re: htaccess.txt location
There's a half a hint in avvici's signature. If you have a mac, a file starting with a dot will not show up - you have to enable hidden files to see it. Even so, sounds like you checked this and still had to find a workaround?
Hope the wine was good anyway

Re: Help with editing css stylesheet - nothing happens at al
glad you have it working now!
You have to do a hard refresh when tweaking CSS, an ordinary refresh won't do it (hence, Ctrl+F5). This explains the reasons pretty well.. http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-hard-refresh.htm
Best of luck with the rest of the project.

Re: OpenCart and the EU Cookie Legislation
not sure, but you could test it out by looking at your own cookies. In Chrome, go to spanner > settings > under the hood > content settings > all cookies and site data. For something in the basket, it sets 3 cookies: a session cookie, and one for language and currency. The first one expires when the...

Re: Help with editing css stylesheet - nothing happens at al
Agree with the above, and I would also add: a) Remember to use Ctrl+F5 to refresh the browser if trying to view a CSS change b) Consider using Firebug for Firefox, or use Firefox's inbuilt Style inspector, to see exactly where the styles for your page are being drawn from. You can learn a lot from t...

boat loads is right ... Naz, have a look at this: http://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=https://www.flameslongton.co.uk It suggests you may be missing an intermediate certificate: "You may need to install an Intermediate/chain certificate to link it to a trusted root certificate. ...
