Re: Spam via my site 1.4.8b

I put the word Enquiry in all caps to make sure the spam was coming through my site, and it was. I don't know much about PHP, but I'll do some experimenting. I will test the captcha. I log onto my site (as an administrator) for long periods of time. I'll try logging off. I'll let you know what happe...

Spam via my site 1.4.8b

Although I have an old version of OpenCart, I wouldn't be surprised if the Contact Us page works the same as in 1.5, so someone might be able to help me with this. I've started getting a lot of spam which is coming via my cart. It all arrives in my In box with the word Enquiry in the subject line. T...

Re: SSL URL not mentioned in config.php (1.4.8b)

All my problems have now been fixed by the new hosting company. However, I'm still curious why my version of OpenCart says this: Use SSL: To use SSL check with your host if a SSL certificate is installed and added the SSL URL to the admin config file. _ Yes _ No There is no mention of the SSL in the...

SSL URL not mentioned in config.php (1.4.8b)

I'm switching hosting companies and I just noticed something. In the Server section of my Admin area it says: Use SSL: To use SSL check with your host if a SSL certificate is installed and added [add?] the SSL URL to the admin config file. However, I just looked in the config.php file in my Admin di...

Re: Meta tags and Google

Now I understand everything. Thank you so much. However, with my site no longer showing up in Google, I'm not sure that will be helpful. Within half a year of establishing my site in late 2002, it was showing up in searches. The last time I checked in 2015, it was still showing up in searches. Now, ...

Re: Meta tags and Google

Thank you for your response. But I do have one question: Where will people see the Meta Tag Description? In search engines when they do searches?

Yes, Czech beads have a good reputation. The Czech Republic used to be the largest manufacturer of glass beads, but China is starting to eclipse them.

Re: Meta tags and Google

I appreciate the replies, but I still don't know what information is supposed to go into those two fields. Let's say I'm selling a 10mm pink faceted bead made in the Czech Republic. What is the best info to put into those two fields: Meta Tag Description Meta Tag Keywords How about if I put the comp...

Meta tags and Google

I've never used the meta tag fields because my site seemed to rank highly right from the beginning, but that has changed, and I want to use them now. However, I'm not sure what goes into each field. The manual says this: Meta Tag Description: A summary to describe the product page to search engines....

Re: Someone is running an OpenCart scam

Oh, that's interesting. I didn't notice that the O was actually a zero. So you are saying that the scammer's identity is known? Why on earth didn't the scammer pay to keep her registration information private? I could contact the FBI and they might contact the German authorities and do something abo...

Re: Someone is running an OpenCart scam

That would explain it -- they are trying to get my money. Selling just glass beads, as I do, I have been generally immune to credit-card scams and the like.

Someone is running an OpenCart scam

First, let me say that having separate logins for the site and the forum is very confusing. I received the email below: ===== Have a good day. I paid the order from purebeads.com And I was received incorrect item. order info: http://purebeads.com/admin/index.php?route=sale/order/info&token=gIxIadPEr...

Re: [v1.4.8] - Invalid token session. Please login again.

That USED to work for me, but it doesn't work any more. I'm no longer able to keep many pages open at one time.

Re: [v1.4.8] - Invalid token session. Please login again.

My experience with "Invalid token session" is that I must reduce the number of open Admin pages to one and then log in again. Then I can have multiple pages open. (That's the way it worked for me in the past, but I am now having problems keeping multiple pages open even when I do that.) If that does...

Logging in to Admin area in version 1.4.8b

I've kept version 1.4.8b because my business is small and the work involved in upgrading wasn't worth it. For the first five years, I was able to login to the Admin area and then open and work on dozens of pages at once. Now, OpenCart is demanding that I login over and over again. Since my installat...

Re: 1.4.8b -- Changing image size in Image tab

Thank you very, very much! You have definitely solved my problem, and you've gone to extraordinary lengths to help me. I am very grateful to you. If I can ever do anything for you, please let me know. Many of my products look similar, and with larger images in Admin, I can see exactly which product ...

Re: 1.4.8b -- Changing image size in Image tab

Because of the number of products, I have many directories of images, and it would take a long time to delete everything. Also, even though it is only a cache directory, it makes me uncomfortable to delete so much. Also, let me point out that the images I want to enlarge were already larger than 40x...

Re: 1.4.8b -- Changing image size in Image tab

First of all, it is extremely nice of you to go to such extraordinary lengths to help me. You are going beyond the call of duty, and I hate to think how much I have inconvenienced you. That parameter allows me to increase the size of the thumbnail in the Product list (I already knew about that). Wha...

1.4.8b -- Changing image size in Image tab

I searched for an answer but didn't find it. In 1.4.8b, when I am editing a product in Admin, the size of the images in the Image tab is very small. Can anyone tell me how to increase the size? I'm talking about the size that I see in the Admin area, not what the customer sees. Thanks. (There doesn'...
