Hello Everyone,
I am new to the forums and this is the first install and experience with a shopping cart, so please bare with me.
Clean install of Opencart Ver.1.5.4.1

I am setting up my store to sell to Canadian customers only and I need some help configuring the Geo Zones + tax + shipping.

I have read multiple postings on the subject and I am still confused.

This is what I have done so far.
In the Countries tab, I have deleted all the countries besides Canada and set it to default.
In the Zones tab, I have deleted all zones besides the Canadian provinces.

This is where I get confused.

From what I have read, I understand that I must setup a Geo Zone per province for taxes. So let me take the province of Quebec as an example.

Since Quebec has 2 taxes, PST and GST, do I setup a Geo Zone for each?
Example : Quebec_PST and Quebec_GST ?

Once the Geo Zone created I then create a Tax Rate for each which the same naming standard and finally I add the Tax rate to the tax Classes? Am I correct?

Also, I read many thread on the cumulative tax configuration with no clear definite answer. How do I handle this? Does this require a mod or not?

Example this thread : http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php ... lit=quebec

Thanks in advance for your help.

system > localization > geo zone

ADD
name: 'Quebec PST' country: 'Canada' zone: Quebec
name: 'Quebec GST' country: 'Canada' zone: Quebec

system > localization > taxes > tax rates

ADD
tax name: 'Quebec PST' select geo zone: Quebec PST
tax name: 'Quebec GST' select geo zone: Quebec GST

system > localization > taxes > tax classes

EDIT Taxable Goods
ADD RULE: Quebec PST
ADD RULE: Quebec GST

You should now find that if the address is Quebec that those two taxes will be added.

Rinse and repeat for all other zones.

Thanks for the detailed example...that really helped!
I did it but the taxes for ALBERTA (or any other) wouldn't show until I checked both "ALBERTA" and "DEFAULT" under custome group dropdown:
system/localisation/taxes > custom group drop down...

Now it seems to be working...does that make sense or did I set something up wrong which happens to work?
