It would be great if you could make a Royal Mail Tracking Code extension so customers can track their orders via thier account.

There is a Dutch mod that does this, it is used for TNT but with some adjustment is usable for any TrackTrace services.

Works with 1.4.9.1 and 1.4.9.2.

Get it: Here.

English files you find: Here

If needed I can write a short Install in English.

i2Paq, can't really follow the (presumably Dutch) discussion. Please can you provide an English install? Also, is the extension on the official extension store?
The one that came closest is http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... ion_id=555 but the description is not very descriptive, so not sure what to think of it...
Ideally, I'd scan a barcode and the customer shall receive a "click here" link to track the package...of course, for this to happen, OC would need to know the shipping company.
Am I able to scan a barcode to directly insert shipping code? (to minimize errors and improve efficiency)

It is a modification of some files and it will allow you to add a TrackTrace code in the BO which is click-able in the BO but also on the customer side + it sends an e-mail with a click-able link to the customer.
It only supports one url atm.

I will write a English short install in about 1hr or so.

Thank for all the info, i have got the Royal Mail working completely fine but we also ship with ups & i was wondering if its possible to duplicate certain aspects of the coding so we could input both Royal Mail & UPS's code. I can get one or the other but not both, any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure.

I did not produce that code, it was made by someone who just does this for fun.

Maybe someone could have a look at it and expand it for you.

I have modded the code to allow Royal Mail and Ukmail and placed it in a VQMod script. If you managed to change the original code from TNT to Royal Mail then you should be able to update the VQMod script to work with Royal Mail & UPS.

The only other thing you need to do is add another column to the order history table called "trackcode2" You can use the same SQL statement from the original install and just change "trackcode" to "trackcode2".

Script Can be found here: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=131&t=27050
