To save you all some work: [Contrib] Master Password Override :)
Edit: Added to Q's reply.

I cannot wait to testdrive the RC!

Thanks for all your hard work :)

Have you add or modify the check out process?

If there is only one Payment Method or one Shipping Method, can we skip it?

Thanks!

Allen

Here's the mod btw for 1.4.8 and screenshot example: [MOD] Support Transparent Backgrounds (1.4.4 - 1.4.8b only).

Any chance 149 is coming out today or tomorrow? Just curious since I'm about to do a fresh upload of the store for my site and would like to do the 149 instead of 148b.

The 1.4.9 will be a release candidate first, before you can use it in production it will take 1 or 2 additional weeks.

I read somewhere that Q said 149 was just 148b with all the bugs that were mentioned fixed and a few small changes (nothing too big), so I was kind of assuming it'd be ready for production a day or two after it came out.

well Q's idea of nothing to big is a complete rewrite of the paypal module and the admin order edit functionality, so I think we could do with a week or so of testing.

Like Xsecrets, even-tough it will be mainly bug-fixes + small additions, Q's perception of small is completely different then that of others ;)

Even it it would only be a bug fix release, it is never wise to start using it in production right after release.

LOL @ all the comments about my perception of small things :)

Yes its true.. a simple "bugs only" release was planned. But the Paypal Rewrite and Admin Edit was planned for 1.4.8 and wasn't fully done. So I wanted to get that into 1.4.9 as well. I've released the paypal rewrite publicly for all to try and have fixed all issues noted so that already has had its public testing done. The Admin order edit is a f@cking nightmare when you get into all the intrinsic details. It will be completely redone in 1.5.x but I owed it to myself to at least try to get something out of 1.4.9 and improve the 2 main issues with product options and total updates. I "think" I've got those worked out now.

I had to change the way the overall edit process worked, basically a full rewrite, so I decided to let the order edit process deal only with prices (no address changes, method changes, etc). I coded all the changes for 1.4.8 in the time it took me to code just the admin order edit piece. It's mostly because I'm trying to retrofit it in to the existing order edit page without changing anything else. It has honestly drained me mentally. Plus Daniel and I want to get 1.4.9 out without getting too much new stuff in so that we can have good stable version of opencart while we work on 1.5.0. There are a whole buttload of changes planned for that and 1.4.9 is holding us up.

That said, since admin order edit is a full rewrite, there may indeed be a 1.4.9.1 but no biggie.. that will certainly be a last-minute-bugs only patch (Framework.Major.Minor.Revision)

I've just finished the admin order entry and I'm merging it into 1.4.9RC1 and testing all my other changes really quick. I will have RC1 out today for sure. ASAP
