Hi all,

Wondering if someone can help. We're running V 3.0.2.0. When creating a new product, I understand the product UPC must be entered within the Feed tab, for Google Merchant Center listings. However, down the bottom of the Feed tab, under 'Clothing & Apparel and Variant Products', is it really necessary to enter all of the variants we have for that product, including images and UPC's? I ask because this is an extremely time-consuming process, when we're already inputting product variant info further along in the Options tab.

We've done some testing, where with some of our products we did enter all of the product variant info in the Feed tab (all UPC's, sizes, images etc.), and others where we only entered the UPC of one of the product variants in the Feed tab. There appeared to be no difference in Google Shopping and both products were listed just fine.

Considering that it doesn't appear to make a difference, just wondering if anyone knows the answer?

Thanks,

Pete

Well, in a professional Environment, Product Listings would be created
locally, by use of one of the popular Formats, and then bulk-uploaded into
the Database.

Or then, get something like this, to make life easier, if you have a lot of Products:

Good Luck! ;)

It sounds like you may be using our extension for Google Merchant.

If you have a UPC on the data tab and do not enter a GTIN for the variants on the feed tab, the UPC from the data tab will/should be used

This may cause errors in time when Google check, as in as far as I am aware, each variant should have it's own separate/different GTIN

Please check the feed in a browser if possible (you don’t have too many products) or run the feed URL with &send=1-100 appended to view 100 or so items from the feed.

Each variant is listed separately in the feed - You should see a GTIN listed against each
