Opencart needs to simplify the purchase process

This is a serious problem! I had to change Opencart for Prestashop after almost 60% of my clients told me it was very difficult to get to the part where they completed their order. It takes 4 steps for a new user to complete an order.

Opencart does not have a "Buy Now" button. The user needs:

1. Add to cart
2. See the cart
3. Register or login
4. Method of payment

For a novice user this is very difficult!

To increase the sales rate the process should be simple and pleasant. Opencart needs to simplify the user experience.

Well, better check the Extension Section, then, you will find some Extensions,
to make the checkout process more efficient. But OC could not survive, if they
would add everything by default for free, as most everybody understands.
So better don't complain, and if you don't like this way of doing things, you could
always try to convince your paying clients, to use something else.

All 60% clients has over 90 years old?
Is not dificult, just annyoing.
And as IP_CAM says, there a lot of free extension for quick checkout...just need to search

Well, (1) and (2) can be handled by a "Buy Now" button, which would put the single item in the cart (default quantity 1?) and proceed to checkout. You have the issue of what to do if the customer has already put something in the cart: empty it first, check out with the additional products, or disable Buy Now. Then, some sort of "guest checkout" can be done for (3), but the amount of information needed is almost as much as opening an account entails. You could at least give the option at checkout, if the customer is not already logged in, of checking out as a guest. For (4), what's the complaint? They have to pay somehow! It's up to the store owner to choose appropriate payment methods. About the only simplification that I can think of would be to display a QR Code (or something similar) to let them pay with a phone (provided they're not using the phone already to visit the store!).

So yes, (1) and (2) can [optionally] be consolidated, (3) could be slightly simplified with a guest (no account) checkout, and (4)? Do any other online shops do things like this? What else could possibly be done that wouldn't be a tremendous security risk? I'm thinking of something like the news reports of Alexa overhearing an intimate conversation between a husband and wife, and thinking it was told to record it and send it to an employee! There are a certain minimum number of explicit steps that should be required, so that no one is surprised by making a purchase they didn't intend to.
