Configurable products with individual pictures

Greetings from Greece.

What is the easiest way to implement configurable products and have images for all of them?

Some of the products have color as an option, others have size, etc. But for each of this option there might be a price change or there even might be a different product all together (different barcode, price, etc). I need the user to be able to select an option and see an according image and the price.

Check in the Extension Section, what exists on OPTIONS. And be aware,
that for latest OC Versions, just a still limited amount of Extensions exist.
But it won't just be an easy way, but a lot of work, in any case!

Do you have any extension in mind by any chance? Also, do you have any idea how diffcult/easy would be to build an extension like that?

Also: do you have any idea what the right term is for what I am looking? Configurable products? Product options?
