Hello,
I am using Opencart 2.0.3.1. My site uses SSL. I also have SEO Friendly URLs set.
I have generated a site map in Opencart using Extensions->Feeds->Google site map. The url for my sitemap is http://www.store.anaheimgear.com/index. ... le_sitemap.
When I am using Google Search Console and I provide the URL for the site map, Google says:
Invalid URL.
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.
Network unreachable: Network unreachable
HTTP Error: 504
The site I am managing under Google uses the https:// protocol, not http:// Does this matter? Where should the file be on my site?
Thanks in advance

Is it possible that my robots.txt is preventing access? I do not know where in the file structure to find the site map...

Attached is an image of where the sitemap is on my server. The file dates are from 2016. I would really like to understand how Opencart handles these site maps: are they regenerated regularly on the fly? I think I have read that they are.... But why no file date change?

I found that if I generated a sitemap (.xml) and uploaded it into the root of the directory where you have OC, then let the search engines know that it is there, they find it. There are others apart from Google, Bing is one that lets you update your sitemap and crawl through it rather than sitting back and waiting for Google to discover your site.
There are plenty of Free Sitemap generatorsthat you can use, some good some not so good.
Before you do this make sure you have your SEO links set up, use an open link checker to verify the integrity of your site.
