My Cart is showing on the Home page versus opening into a new page

Hi All,

I have no idea why, but all of a sudden the cart will on show at the bottom of the home page. It no longer opens a new page with just the cart experience. Any idea how I can change it back? Also ... there is a typo on the checkout button and I am not clear on how to update this.

I am using the most current Opencart version 2.x.
