windows server issue on amazon

Hi
We have installed opencart software onto windows server and everything seems to work except that when you try and navigate to any pages that use seo friendly urls it just stays on home page
Also if you go to contact us page certain language files are not showing correctly it says
text_ home which is a php variable so its showing the php variable instead of text associated with the variable
e.g
text_home = Home
We think that something isn't installed onto server the programmars have tried everything they know

For the seo friendly URLs you will need to set up rewrites for whatever web server your are using. OpenCart comes with an .htaccess.txt for apache with an example and instructions. If using a different web server try searching and forums for examples.

For the language fles, check these are installed correctly and are for the correct version. You could also check that they have the same variables in as the standard English files.
