free SSL/TLS certificates. Seems to be back by major companies too like cisco.
just came out of beta. I'm in the process of ssl shopping and was wondering if i should skip to this. I know there's some leg work involved but the hosting provider im working with already integrates with them so it might be an easy switch for me.
curious if anyone else has used it for ecommerce?
https://letsencrypt.org/
Yes, we've installed it and used it and it's good but ...
"Let’s Encrypt automates away the pain"
"no complicated configuration editing"
https://letsencrypt.org/getting-started/
It then requires pages of Linux commands to get it working.
So yes it's good, it works and it's free, but no it's not simple in most cases.

thanks for the feedback. My hosting provider has integrated with them so its supposed to be seamless from my standpoint. Guess I'll find out haha. going to give it a shot since I'm moving anyways
If your host has and it really is a simple process then great, as far as I'm aware there's nothing wrong with the certificates they generate and they're as good as paid ones.
It's going to be pretty bad for SSL providers when cPanel includes it! Great for everyone else though.

Yup, they have it baked into their cpanel. Worked like a champ, clicked on install, select the domain and it popped up a window progress and 30 seconds later it was installed and ready to go.
Do you mean their control panel or cPanel (cpanel.com)moneycarlo wrote:baked into their cpanel

the cPanel control panel support the LetsEncrypt and cPanel own version of SSL, the whole process is automated, simply need to enable user account and at 4AM every day the system renew / generate new SSL certificates.
