You have a live shop and not tested before going online? Very bad idea... 
Go to your Orders and select missing orders under the "status" column and filter.
If it's there, you found it.
Of not have a look in your database under "oc_order". If it's nothing in there you have a problem...

What version are you on? I'm currently on 1.3.2 and have a similar issue, but it's not a biggy as the order is under the 'missing order' filter.
I'm sure this was fixed in a later build though, so if you can't live with it, I would suggest upgrading.
