By that standard no release of OpenCart has been stable. Hell, no software would be.

Also a currency problem when a customer changes currency on checkout and shipping rate does not change.

Guilty.
The reason is mainly that I get tired of seeing the same question 50 times. Now this www vs non-www thing is going to plague us the next few months. And since the forum search is absolutely worthless because it won't let you search for any popular word, people can't search for things like this.

Want to find all "1.4.0" bugs? Then search "[1.4.0]" -- FAIL
Want to find what version of opencart you have? Then search "what version do I have" -- FAIL
What to find out why www doesn't work? Then search "www" -- FAIL

So since people can't search, they will just post the same question about "Why my products don't show up" because the word "products" is ignored by the search

in the product detail there are 3 changes:

1 when exist the product related you can see the tab related;
2 when exist others image you can see tab images
3 the page review you can allowed in store option.

I think the next week i can change other option front store.

I don't understand why you think i would release soemething unstable. the bugs that have been reported are minor and don;t stop opencart functioning.
well lets see because you released 1.4.1 1.4.2 and 1.4.3 within a week and the last two are supposedly bug fix releases which would mean that the first two were inherently not stable. Actually maybe stable is not a proper term. Not bug free would be more appropriate I suppose.
no! it does not mean they are unstable! As I have already said there is nothing that is stopping the cart working as it should.

One of the bugs reported in the latest version is that the text for one of the fileds int he reports is missing. not a appication killer is it?

I think I already did it onece. i'm not sure why its been disabled. mabe because i could not test changes done between version changes. there was some code in the 1.4.0 relaese that would have got it working.

Thank you but I am not a coder, I will wait and see if you implement it in the next upgrade.

Guys/girls,

I run some software that does a file compare across the base versions to show me the deltas. From that I can guess what has been changed (and in most cases, why). Perhaps we need a central place for this kind of documentation - similar to release notes.

I'm obviously not volunteering (yet), but we do need someone to assist with this part of the OC's release management.

Daniel,
sorry for, maybe, the silly question... Is demo site in last SW release? I'm trying to check it, especially for multi-store feature but I can't see anything new in admin->system.

thanks in advance,

md

The real problem with version 1.4.3 is:

Users can choise install the clean database.
Delete all accessories funcs non complete or dont work (payment method).
The bookmark link dont work with all browser!
The admin section have a small bug stylescheet.

The front main content(top bar) have a style bug!(you can adjust: add +2px in the height)

The next post i add a zip file complete package!
On my server, the seo url dont work!
mybe on your server is all ok!

The default theme with changes: The suggest for Daniel is:

Create a basic package!

All method payment and shipping you can create a separate plugin: in this way users can choise end install only plugin for necessity.

First off, great work by Daniel on this cart.

I dabbled in it a year or so ago (even wrote the original moneybookers module) but decided it was not yet ready for prime time. Now, it has progressed a bit but Daniel really needs to get a grip on some issues.
  • The mental release cycle. Releasing three versions of the program in about a week is just crazy. Shows a total lack of control or QC. Why not publish patches? Create a no reply section here and post patches to fix these minor bugs and after a few of them have been accumulated, move to the next version or simply roll them up into the next proper version
  • The bloated file set. Daniel seems to feel he needs to cram in as much stuff into the program. It is nice to have 20 payment options available but nobody needs 20 payment options at the same time. So why not simply have them as modules available to download so that people can pick and choose which one they want? With all due respect to our friends from Ukraine, that a gateway is the most popular in Ukraine does not make it a candidate for inclusion in a default download. At most, there should be Paypal and one or two additional in the download.

I recollect Daniel stating that he felt Zencart was a bloated POS. It may be a POS but the funny thing is that an OC download now weighs in at far more than a ZC download. It is even heavier than Joomla for crying out loud.

Cut down the bloat! Put out a basic package that you can focus on (will reduce all those bugs that creep into every single release) and let everything else be optional extras
Wishing you the best and see you again in about a year's time!

The patches idea is great! Would make allot more sense.

The Mybb forum software does it in exactly this way. You should set it out like this:

http://blog.mybboard.net/2009/12/29/myb ... ty-update/

As you can see, there are manual update instructions and all other info needed on that one page.

Hope it helps :)

Edit: This version of OpenCart has been repleaced by OpenCart 1.4.4.
