you sold "Newsletter Campaigner & Email Marketing" 104 times at 25 USD so that's 2600 USD that you stole from another extensions developer!

2600 USD from piracy!

You asshole! i am filing a legal note you begger! You sold our copyright softwares! those were our softwares and i have records of it in email and through the transaction summary we had that time.

I even have the buyers email address and the website they installed software's via install notifier. I would email to them also to get return since the code is not authenticated copyright if they bought from opencart.

Regards,
atir

Private note
Hi Daniel,

We receive a complaint from andy2012 telling kodecube steals his code

He provided some evidence here:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/spa/3 ... dtnswf.png

(left side our module, right side his one)

our original code - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/spa/3 ... dxwzxj.png (look on dots and lines)

code in his files - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/spa/3 ... 1x1tiz.png

white-spaces (dots) and tabs (lines) is identical which proves that code was copied.

his code - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/spa/3 ... bbn716.png

our original - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/spa/3 ... drea9d.png and https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/spa/3 ... sq5yly.png

Please decide if kodecube needed to be banned again

Best Regards,
Raymond

also there a lot of other copied/resampled code for which we can provide screenshots.

Dear Raymond,

we download the code and started analize it and are completely shocked. In the meanwhile I'm contacting our lawyer so he may also check the code and we may start a legal action against this developer.

Just check here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/spa/3 ... dtnswf.png (these are 2 files, one of his module and one of ours)

If in some way you have some coder to show

Please advice asap as I'm on the way for legal actions

Thanks for the collaboration

Dear Alessiodelvecchio,

I have compare the 2 modules and install the 2 modules in 1.6.x

I think the codes are different, the interface in the admin is similar, both require user to send the email to get the key to enable the modules but the interface is still different as Newsletter Enhancements - V3 - vQmod + Free Mega Template Pack is using simple interface without any image

I think the 2 modules have similar functionality so that you may think his module copied from your module

I also checked in the description of both extension, it seems the description is different now

Best Regards,
Raymond

Dear Opencart admins,

we just saw the extension http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... e=kodecube and from the interface and even from the description seems a perfect copy of our 1000+ sales http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=4776 1000+ newsletter module.

May someone look into it, seems very unprofessional to copy interfaces and even description.

Thanks

If he's permanently banned from the store, you might want to also one-click ban him from the forums:

Edit: I went ahead and did it for you. Extension pirates bother me. >:(

Sad that people do such things like buys or steals extension and later resells it as own:(

why not to think of something like that where user (seller / developer) who develops and sells extensions would have to pass some kind of exam online before they will be able to to sell extension :) if it is a free extension then it should be listed without restrictions but if a paid one, then developer should pass some kind of knowledge test:) or develop xx extension to show that he is capable of doing that.

Yes, you are correct. Exam or few coding test and extra review process and approval for the paid theme will help to identify such people.
Also no doubt it will stopped at the moment he adds the extension to the store.
But Same Newsletter extension I purchased from the original developer and I am waiting for his response from long time. Now the situation is that the 6 month support he claimed is also expired. So people attracts to those who give support and in less price.

I mean the Author should be more active in giving the support at first instance itself. Still I not get proper reply from the Author. Also I observed some other such modules with him. At that time I was searching the origial developer who give me proper support and can help in case I stuck.

Yes i agree it is bad to sell someone elses extension as your own but i cant see how taking a test will stop them

To be honest, I was surprised, that the System worked, as it did, in the first place. But it would have taken a lot
of attention, and care, still, it would not have been possible, to keep others from distributing Custom Code in other places.

It's an endless problem, and it exists, since the web exists, uncounted attempts, to 'secure' knowledge from beeing
illegally 'used' by others, failed so far, and for any new Lock, someone will 'share' the key, sooner or later.

One way would be, to, by example, consequently BAN Paid Extensions from beeing Subject to technical Discussions
at the Forum. Like Journal Themes, or other popular paid Extensions, likely beeing downloaded from dark Sites in
remarkable Quantities, and regularely mentioned around here, despite of the Fact, that for licensed Users, Journal has
it's own Site and Service Department.

Or then, it could be done, like Isenselabs.com does it, by embedding a Key-Routine, forcing installers to visit
Isenselabs, in order to unlock the Mod. But it would not be so easy, to add such a routine, just to make a 6-liner
VqMod work...

But as one mentioned in the German Forum just a short while ago:
Why should I pay for a Minor Fix, wich should be built-in by default in the first place...

It's one of the reasons, I never ever even planned to create something PAID, onto the web, just to possibly
find out that it's used by some cheap Suckers, trying to make a living on someone else's expenses.

Just thinking... ;)
