When a visitor goes to my contact form, they are able to complete the form and OpenCart (v 1.5.4) will tell the visitor that the enquiry was successfully sent to the store owner. However, I do not receive the emails or any emails. This if when I use Mail settings (all other fields are blank - not sure if they need to be completed).

When I change my settings to SMTP (with correct server info provided by GoDaddy support), the contact form does not work when the "Submit" button is clicked. Visitors are taken to a white page that displays an error message.

I have did a "test" sale and the order was not set to me either. Has anyone encountered this problem, and/or found a solution? It would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

When I set my Mail Protocol to "Mail", the contact form works and visitors get a success message after clicking on the Submit button. However, I do not receive any emails via the contact form or alerts for new accounts/orders.

When I change the Mail Protocol to "SMTP" using the information that GoDaddy provided, the contact form does not work. Visitors are redirected to a blank page. I mean, absolutely blank. Again, no emails are received.

I'm new to OpenCart so...I am not too sure what I am doing and must be missing something.

Thanks.

When you have entered the email address for additional mail parameters, you need a '-f' in from of the email.

so change it from inquiries@ to -finquiries@

No need to use SMTP if mail already works. If you are using an external email provider for your mail (like Gmail, Zoho etc) then the server may not be sending any of the emails to your internal mail if its configured wrong. The server may be using localhost to route emails instead of looking for the external mail records, it if continues after the above fix then you would need to speak with your host.

Hope this helps.

I tried that previously and it didn't work. I think it may have to do with my email address being a Workspace Email Account versus Hosted Exchange Email Account? I have contacted GoDaddy to see what they can do on their end.

If you know of anything else I can try, I'm all game!

Thanks for helping!

ive got the same problem in 1.5.5.1

2 different websites, emails, on 2 different hosting providers, been fine for the past year...

really dont know what is going on, maybe the hosting providers have updated something.

even tried running a upgrade using the same oc version, incase a file was corrupt, updated vqmod and so on.

not working.

Usually, there isn't any errors for such cases. You might want to contact your web host to ask them to look into the mail server error log to further debug. The issues usually happens there, which is preventing the mails from going out.

Based on experience, there are quite a handful users with such issues. I have solved quite a number of them. Look out for illegal characters in your store name too.

Hi,

Sorry for the reply a year later... But did anyone get this sorted? I am having the exact same problem!! It is going white when the user does anything that requires an email to be send to them after, e.g. contact us page, register page. I am also with GoDaddy at it was previously working for about 8 months before this error started happening.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Terry
