Paypal payment process inside opencart for non US merchant
Hello,
I am a non US/UK/Canada merchant.
I have Paypal business account and I want to have people to pay with their credit cards inside my opencart site.
(yes, just like paypal direct if I was in the US).
is there a way to do it?
what is the API for in my account if I cant use paypal direct?
Thanks
G

Paypal express not the same as Paypal Pro/Direct
Paypal Pro/Direct is only available in US and UK:
https://registration.paypal.com/pro30PaypalLogin.do - Note you can't change country to anything else
Paypal Express is planned, but needs some thought.

Hi, Does that mean i cannot use paypal with open cart if i use the australian paypal? or is there another way, i.e. hand the payment over to paypal and then use ipn or something to advise the cart of the payment and order?
I have just tried the "paypal" plugin, the problem is, it processes the order, but the order doesnt show up in opencart......i can see there are a lot of people with problem like this in opencart....but being a newby at this i cannot work out how they are fixing..is there a quick simple fix?

post a link to your site please.
I'm going to look into this again.
Could it be you have deleted all your order statuses? or changed an order status and not updated paypal's completed order status?
What about the encryption key in the settings? did you set one up?
if its none of these things then it maybe the encryption class that needs removing from the paypal module.

No it just means you can't use "Paypal Direct" where the customer never leaves. The only paypal option you have is the normal "Paypal" one where the customer is sent to paypal to pay and then returned.

Yes

No. It is handled by the opencart module form.
There are already a few hot topics out there for the paypal order update problem. So I won't address that here.

Hi,
I am stil having the problem....i contacted my server people and they gave me the following reply. Any other ideas?
Curl is enabled for entire web server :
curl
cURL support enabled
cURL Information libcurl/7.19.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8b zlib/1.2.3 libidn/0.6.5
http://phpinfo.supremepanel10.com/
Plus there is no server that is running to block or prevent outside connections.
In case you have specific inforamtion that proves this statement provide it here so it can be reviewed.
If not contact your web developer and re check once again script behavior thus checking vendor documentation.

Re: Paypal payment process inside opencart for non US merchant
Hi,
Is there no one going to help me solve this problem? It seems that a lot of people are having this problem. This is the only thing stopping from recommending this cart to my clients. If i can get the paypal payment working ok, i will install open cart as my standard installations, and glady donate for each install.
Is there anyway of using the paypal ipn instead to make sure that the order is passed back over?

Hi Cfardon,
I think it is not related to te code itself and I will explain why.
I had the same problem with orders from PayPal, and after getting angry about opencart and this thread I switched to another host and... surprise!
its work like magic! all working fine and smooth.
I am still after a solution to have credit cards without leaving my site (maybe authorize.net??) and some RTL
issues but the PayPal story is over.
I suggest you to try another host and check it (use latest version of opencart of course)

I have that solution if interested
http://www.unbannable.com/ocstore/payme ... ze_net_aim
and I partially agree with the "get a new host" theory. I never saw this problem on my old host, and now that I've changed hosts, i still don't see this problem. But I have tried debugging this problem on some of my client's hosts to no avail. On one hand it is a simple php mail() call. There should be no trouble with this seemingly simple command. But somewhere the email gets lost.
But on the other hand, many people state that other scripts like wordpress and forums are emailing just fine on their servers. So its hard to say why it is happening for so many.

Re: Paypal payment process inside opencart for non US merchant
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. If I use other shopping carts, they email fine. And if i process it as a "cash on delivery" payment everything works ok. It is only the paypal script that doesn't work. I am actually a reseller of hosting services, and also have had a look at my server setups, and there should be nothing blocking the script.
I have used a shopping cart from coffee cup software, and in their cart i can process paypal payments onsite even though i use Australian Paypal. With all due respect, how are they able to process Australian payments onsite when Open Cart cannot?

Re: Paypal payment process inside opencart for non US merchant
I've had some IPN Debug code setup on my Qphoric Domain site for a while now, as I too get random (1 out of 10) orders that don't finalize with paypal.
The past 3 weeks has actually been error free... until this morning. I got 3 orders.. all from different people, all from outside of USA. I know i've gotten international orders before that went through just fine, so I'm comparing the IPN log from the ones that didn't update to the ones that do update to see if I can figure it out.
-EDIT-
Just got 2 more orders.. both outside USA.. both didnt update the status.. researching.
