Export/Import Tool: Error when opening spreadsheet

Postby ~Jesse~ » Mon May 28, 2012 10:39 pm

When I try to export with the export/import too the spreadsheet gives an error saying The File you are trying to open is in a different format than the specified extension. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Have you saved it in a newer or different file format? I also use Openoffice as the program I use, as Excel would not format the descriptions correctly.

I used to work fine with versrions 1.4.x. But I have the same problem with version 1.5.1. I try to do an export after installation (with default values in categories and products) in order to have the propper field values and spreadsheet names.

When oppening with excel... same problem as you have, and same message...

Any help on this, please?
Thank you in advance!

Apparently it could'nt create the spreadsheet propperly.
After the error, if I still open the file, I can only see the following text inside the excel file:

"Error: Unknown column 'ov.image' in 'field list'<br />Error No: 1054<br />SELECT po.product_id, po.option_id, po.option_value AS default_value, po.required, pov.option_value_id, pov.quantity, pov.subtract, pov.price, pov.price_prefix, pov.points, pov.points_prefix, pov.weight, pov.weight_prefix, ovd.name AS option_value, ov.image, ov.sort_order, od.name AS option_name, o.type FROM `improduct_option` po LEFT JOIN `imoption` o ON o.option_id=po.option_id LEFT JOIN `improduct_option_value` pov ON pov.product_option_id = po.product_option_id LEFT JOIN `imoption_value` ov ON ov.option_value_id=pov.option_value_id LEFT JOIN `imoption_value_description` ovd ON ovd.option_value_id=ov.option_value_id AND ovd.language_id=2 LEFT JOIN `imoption_description` od ON od.option_id=o.option_id AND od.language_id=2 ORDER BY po.product_id, po.option_id, pov.option_value_id;"

I'm still having problems with the Export/Import Tool in 1.5.1 version.
I'm not able to create and export an xls file with the right format. I try to export with the defauult values in order to see the format of the xls file and be able to create my own to import.

Can someone provide an xls with the fields needed for this 1.5.1 version, please?

Thank you in advance for the help provided.
Manu.

I have the same issue. except my files are 0 bytes in size and when you open them there is nothing there. I am using excel 2010 to open the file, but that isn't the issue. as a file that is 0 in size just does not have any data to display.

I'm using excel 2010 to open the exported file. My file is 883bytes, and this is the conteng shown using Open Office as suggested by some users in other posts:

Error: Unknown column 'ov.image' in 'field list'
Error No: 1054
SELECT po.product_id, po.option_id, po.option_value AS default_value, po.required, pov.option_value_id, pov.quantity, pov.subtract, pov.price, pov.price_prefix, pov.points, pov.points_prefix, pov.weight, pov.weight_prefix, ovd.name AS option_value, ov.image, ov.sort_order, od.name AS option_name, o.type FROM `improduct_option` po LEFT JOIN `imoption` o ON o.option_id=po.option_id LEFT JOIN `improduct_option_value` pov ON pov.product_option_id = po.product_option_id LEFT JOIN `imoption_value` ov ON ov.option_value_id=pov.option_value_id LEFT JOIN `imoption_value_description` ovd ON ovd.option_value_id=ov.option_value_id AND ovd.language_id=2 LEFT JOIN `imoption_description` od ON od.option_id=o.option_id AND od.language_id=2 ORDER BY po.product_id, po.option_id, pov.option_value_id;

Could it be an error exporting the database fields...?

Thanks for helping.

DESPERATE!
I still can't generate and export a valid xls file.

Can anyone share an xls file with default products/values in order to test the import function?
Thank you in advance.
