Cost calculation issue

Hello,
I`m using opencart 1.5.1 and i have a little problem calculating a price for shipment. In order for the invoice and the correct price to be issued i have to calculate price by weight and i don`t know where to start..
For example: I have a laptop that needs to be shipped to Canada ( which is out of our region ) for example and the weight is 100 pounds. I have a local price for shipment of 1$ per pound and outside of our borders 1.5 $ per pound.
Any ideeas how i can do that ?

There's no shipping module at this time that I know of that offers a breakdown of $ per pound
Typically it is done by ranges like first 20 lbs is $10, 21 to 40 is $15, etc
You could do it the long way and make a range for each weight
1:1, 2:2, 3:3, 4:4, etc
1. Admin->System->Localisation->Geo Zones
2. Insert new GeoZone
Name: "Canada Shipping"
Country: Canada
Zones: All Zones
Save
3. Insert new GeoZone
Name: "Intl Shipping"
Country: Add all other countries (Yes it is a tedious step at the moment)
Zones: All Zones for each
Save
4. Admin->Extensions->Shipping->Weight
Install
Edit
5. For Canada Shipping zone enter
1:1,2:2,3:3,4:4,5:5, etc until you hit 100 or so
6. For Intl Shipping Zone enter
1:1.5,2:3,3:4.5,4:6,5:7.5, etc until you hit 100 or so
