admin login form into front end theme

Postby grduniam » Thu May 03, 2012 6:55 am

Hi,

I'm using the module multi vendor/drop shipper by waabay. When vendors login they must login though the mywebsite.com/admin page. This looks quite ugly and unprofessional for my vendors.

Is there a way that I put the admin login form into a page that is within my front end theme? So that the form works, logging people into the admin area, but the form is on a page which looks like my website?

Therefore, vendors can login here and don't have to see the regular admin/login page tpl.

Any help, suggestions or clarification on the possibilities would be greatly appreciated.

You can do so with colorbox (1.5.2) or fancybox (1.5.1). Just make that on click a login link, it loads the admin login page in a pop up will do, so user will not get redirected

Thanks MarketinSG! I'm using 1.5.2.1. Though I"m not very familiar with color box or fancy box. Can you give me a little more detail on how I would go about doing this?

Thanks!!

This is a bad idea, man. Your vendors aren't very wise...

Just ignore him. He's probably just spamming. If you look at the source code carefully, you will see that you can allow it to load a pop up iframe instead of redirecting away. Would look superb.

I'm not spamming. Access to your admin via home website is the worst solution ever. Most of people changes names of their admin directories to avoid attack. In this solution even googlebot can index your admin page. In my opinion making login as admin into public is a bad idea. Correct me if I am wrong.
