Hey,
I recently did the upgrade from OC 1.4.9.1 to 1.5.2.1 using the update script etc.. which worked perfectly.

My old database was upgraded in the process. So my new shop is running 1.5.2.1, and all my products are viewable.

So I then used the Export/Import tool to export my newly updated database as a .XLS document. That all worked perfectly too.

But if I add a product to the .XLS document and try to import the .XLS document I get the following error:

Notice: Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'Premier Quality Tape .jpg',1,2.95,0,'2010-11-25 12:48:26','2012-01-25 11:51:25',' at line 1
Error No: 1064
INSERT INTO `product` (`product_id`,`quantity`,`sku`,`upc`,`location`,`stock_status_id`,`model`,`manufacturer_id`,`image`,`shipping`,`price`,`points`,`date_added`,`date_modified`,`date_available`,`weight`,`weight_class_id`,`status`,`tax_class_id`,`viewed`,`length`,`width`,`height`,`length_class_id`,`sort_order`,`subtract`,`minimum`) VALUES (294,10,'','','',5,'TAP329',0,'data/Tapes/P' Premier Quality Tape .jpg',1,2.95,0,'2010-11-25 12:48:26','2012-01-25 11:51:25','2010-11-24',0,1,1,9,6,0,0,0,'1','1','1','1'); in /home/mikroweb/public_html/opm/system/database/mysql.php on line 49

I really am stumped! If anyone has come across this, or has any ideas I would be HUGELY grateful! Once I get over this hurdle I'm away in a hack...

Thanks

so here is the problem

apparently when you try to open some .xls files in excel 2010 it corrupts them. i downloaded open office and redownloaded my cart using export/import tool. this gave me my template. i opened the template in open office. i left all the headers the same and just copy and pasted all my info from excel to open office calc. saved as .xls and re uploaded. worked LIKE A CHAMP!

Yeah I'm using Openoffice too - the exact same way you described... My issue was in the image filename provided by my client... should have noticed it earlier - but obviously there shouldn't be any symbols or spaces in image file name...

You live and learn!

Thanks
