Module - Price Range

Postby paul » Fri Jul 17, 2009 8:43 pm

First of all,

I would like to say that OpenCart is definitely the greatest shopping cart available out there. I've benn through some others and spent a lot of time and none of the others worked at the end.

Someone can please tell me if there is a module (or some kinda) that instead of giving me categories, gives me price range. I need a module where the customer can select the price range desired in the left menu.

Thanks!
Paul

You could make one, using the category module as your base
or
you could fake it, and just make categories named "$0 - $100", "$101 -$199" and link products to that.

Thanks but how am I suppose to link the price instead of products?

I may be able to link the products but whenever I change the price I will need to re-link the product again.

Just a tought.

Right.. but how often do prices change?
But I was only giving a quick pseudo-solution with that one.

My first advice was to clone the category box and use that as a base for the price one. Instead of doing the db query by category. do the query by price range

you could use my layered navigation. it does categories, manufacturers, price range, tags, and extra field (if my extra field mod is installed) and you can turn on or of any of the sections.

I've also released a Product by Price module that does this. It's not like Xsecret's Layered Navigation that does categories, manufacturers, and tags, but if you're just looking for price ranges then it should work. You can get it from the link in my signature.

I've also released a module that does something like this. You can choose product range in each category by sliding minimum and maximum with automotic Ajax refresh.

Look at http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=1245
