Why not read instruction 1st?
I know nothing about PHP and SQL, but I still try my best to understand it.

Re: [RELEASED] Export/Import tool for OpenCart 1.5.0.x
I just tried using this on a fresh install of 1.5.1.1. I know it's not specifically built for it but I thought I'd give it a go anyway.
Export works great - no problems.
When I try to import I get the following:
Anybody got any ideas?
Cheers.

Okay, for some reason this file:
doesn't want to load up to my server - everytime I FTP it, I get a blank file.
Anybody got any bright ideas?

No worries - got it working. Have no idea what was wrong but was eventually able to upload the file via my control panel rather than FTP.

Re: [RELEASED] Export/Import tool for OpenCart 1.5.0.x
Hi, look at the format of the numbers, maybe? Otherwise, it looks like it is importing the formula.
What I usually do is design the formula in a column that is not used, Copy, then paste the information into the correct column. However, select PASTE - SPECIAL, and select values. that way all the numbers should go across correctly.

Re: [RELEASED] Export/Import tool for OpenCart 1.5.0.x
I have formatted the SKU column as text and no formulas are being used in the spreadsheet. So I am a bit lost on this one.
Sorry you were correct. My client supplied the file and have just realised that there was a formula being used.
Thanks

Ok. I'm ready to install this MOD. However the installation instructions don't mention what to do with the "Catalog" folder NOR index.php file.
Do i go ahead and install them? Where? webstore Root ?? Is it ok to overwrite the current index.php in root??

Hi, just follow the instructions carefully. Try and use the VQMod option for installation, as a number of modifications exist out there for it. Once installed VQMod, requires very little maintenance, and installation of Mods are very simple, and does not modify major core files.

Re: [RELEASED] Export/Import tool for OpenCart 1.5.0.x
I think the Install instructions should be revised and be more specific.
Instructions mention nothing about what to do with the folder "CATALOG" nor the index.php file included in the MOD_pack_ZIP.
I installed everything as installation instructions say:
Uploaded to root via FTP:
ADMIN folder
System Folder
vqmod folder
Then via OC> Admin> Extension> Modules> vqmod Manager i did upload the file "export.xml"
According to the install instructions, i did NOTHING to files "index.php" and "Catalog" folder.
I get to see the "Export" mod in the vQMod admin window BUT can't see "tool_export" options in Admin>System>Users>Users Group>Top Administrator
I downloaded 1.5.1 Export MOD version.

Re: [RELEASED] Export/Import tool for OpenCart 1.5.0.x
I agree. I messed up myself, and copied all across. I did actually have to amend those files (header.php etc) so it could appear on the menu/dashboard. There is a part missing for admin/language/english/common which should have header.php after it in the instructions.

Re: [RELEASED] Export/Import tool for OpenCart 1.5.0.x
Well i just messed up all the fresh install of 1.5.1 i did this morning and had to re-install it. Thank god i'm barely testing it and not a live store.
After a fresh install of 1.5.1 now apparently this mod works. I just exported form OC to my Local.
Now what really concerns me is i did not installed the index.php file Nor the CATALOG folder included in the mod_pack_ZIP.
So sad to see this lack of instructions on such nice-try mod.

Hai There.
I have installed it, flawlessly.
Go to Export Tool and start exporting the data's. Saved.
Now the problem is, when i open the XLS, the Excel show a notification error, it says :
Try to recovered, its show the data, but some data, somewhere is missing.
Try to find it, by searching the data one by one (thanks god its only sample data), but only managed to find "one" Product missing, cant find another (if there is any because i see to many "blank" data that supposedly not "blank".
Have try Excel 97-2010, still have the same error.
Re-installing the Tools, still have the problem. And i think its not the installation procedure, but how the data saved to the XLS its self that mightbe wrong.
Can you figured it out for me..?
The file is the attachment, below.
Thanks.
PS : If you can added something like "save as CSV" than it will be fantastic, so we can crosscheck from either those format, if something goes wrong at one format, but mighbe not in another format.

Excel recovered your formulas and cell values, but some data may have been lost.

Hi, I opened it in Excel & received the same error. Maybe fill in a few of the blank cells, and try again? I have used a few different ones. The main issue I had was the description stuffing up, and adding html characters on 1.4.9.4.

I can open it just fine using OpenOffice 3.3.0. So maybe it's an issue with Microsoft's Excel not being backward compatable to the XLS BIFF8 format used by the PHP Pear Excel Writer software embedded in the Export/Import tool?
Maybe it's time to go for the OASIS Open Document standard for future versions of the Export/Import tool and give up on proprietary MS formats.

There is no mod_pack_ZIP in the Opencart 1.5.1.x bundle. Once you extract the Opencart ZIP archive, it will automatically contain the files index.php and admin/index.php. Then, when you install VQmod, the latter 2 files will be modified.
