Checkout / Stage class css

Hi there

Is it possible to give an 'active' class to the checkout stage you are on...and maybe another class of stages you have done.

My client wants the viewer to know which stage they are on by changing colour of the panel to blue...with those stages that have been completed being light grey...please see rough concept attached.
