It seems interesting/usefull if replace MyISAM database engine to InnoDB engine to allow support transaction en ensure better integrity

Sure, it would, and Full Indexing the DB as well, BUT if you need a working Tool, just download the
ATOMIX TURBO.PHP and make it happen. it will work on Opencart v.1.5.x and v.2.x Software.

Some Extensions add their own Tables to the DB, and since usually, those table are set to use the MyISAM Engine,
one should frequently use this FINE turbo.php MyISAM-to-InnoDB - Changer anyway, to avoid the DB to require two Engines, just because of one or a very few MsISAM Settings in a DB. It's all just wasted Job's, and so lower overall Performance.

Actually, by Nature of things, such should be possible to handle by Admin Default!

The latest ATOMIX TURBO.PHP can be found here, among other Things, related to (mostly v.1.5.6) Speed.

Good Luck ;)

And just to mention it:
Free OC 1.5-2.0 Extension, enabling changing between DB Engines, unfortunately, still no Indexing, so, I rather use the TURBO.PHP, because I don't need to switch back from InnoDB to MyISAM for any reason, and the TURBO.PHP is only a simple single File, it does not even require any system 'installation', it's just added into the ROOT, and url-called, if needed.

But it's great to check, what your DB has, on existing DB Engine Settings!

Hi,

I think it would be a great idea to make it when your working on editing a product or admin settions and such when you hit the save button it doesn't exit you out of it rather it stay with that product or setting open so you can continue to make changes if needed.

Also a preview button for products would be great so we could see what it looks like before we save it and make it live a bit like what Wordpress does.

And finally the ability to upload more that one file or image at a time would be amazing, having to upload 100s of images is a pain when you have to do it one by one

Kind Regards
Scott

Where is the Problem, you can upload 1'000 Images at once onto your Image Sudirectory, by Use of a simple FTP-Client.
Then, you just have to call the images from the sub, when you add another Product.

Very true and FTP is fine for most, But wouldn't it simplify the whole process if you could just do that from the admin section of opencart? for employees or non techie people who don't know how to use FTP?

Sure, but a lot of image Uploaders exist, on the Web, so, just make it easy for Workers, to use such a tool.

OpenCart is heavy on Server MEMORY (already!), when it comes to such tasks. Still Bulk OC Image Uploader Extensions do exist. Just search the Extension Section for matching results.

I think the forum looks a biiiiit outdated, so giving it a slight cleanup would probably do the trick. I mean, the current layout is good, but it doesn't really look as if it is 2015 (almost 2016!).
Just a thought. ;)

2 Suggestions:

You need a moderator to give official answers for users asking basic questions here, I have migrated from another ecommerce platform, i'm new user here. http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=190&t=155014

I'm testing the latest version of OC, apparently I cannot delete attributes if they are assigned to products. I have a website with more than 4000 item (electronics shop). Before I migrate from OSC I need to know if the attributes problem will bring me troubles in the future. I don't want to regret and migrate again to another platform.

Thank you

Sure, One in/for every Language, at best ! :D
But, in real Life, such does not come for free, so, just think about,
how much this would be worth for you, in terms of a personal financial participation.

It's an online Shop, after all, and everybody plan's to make money with it.
Therefore, just be reasonable, and just don't expect others, to make you to get rich quick on a widely free ticket. This System only functions, if some Dev's are able to build Mod's, and so create an Income. Then, because of this, OC will create an Income, so enabling them, to create FREE Software, for you all! :'(

Just think about it...

1 moderator is enough just for basic questions about OpenCart. English is universal.

I'm not expecting others to make me rich !! Its alright to hire a developer for the attribute problem, but would be great if the next OC version can include this very primitive option. isn't this topic titled "Have an improvement suggestion?" ?

this is correct, but you did not mention a 'software' improvement, you mentioned a 'structural' improvement, obviously unaware of the 'way', this Project is beeing 'handled', and what the whole Idea behind this could be.

By Nature of things, it would be nice, to have very competent fellows around here, just waiting to assist. And everyone of those Fellows would have an oversight on the thousands of Extensions, and Themes, for each and every OC Version, available on the Web, paid and free, to be able to find out any problem, possibly related not even to OC, but either the Server Setup, or then the way, Peoples are trying to handle a software, mostly probably fully unaware of anything, related with Servers, http, and/or Databases.

That's, what I meant. Not less, not more. But I am also fully aware on today's expections, in the virtual Web-World, where everything seems to come for free, at least, if one know's on, how to find it. So, just don't take it personal, if you don't belong to those, otherways, you'll sure know, what I mean... ;)

So much to this 8)

Thank you @IP_CAM, you explained to me how things work around here.
Thank you @James if you add the Attribute feature to the new version of OC

All the best !

Please add some proper documentation on this site as to how to create new themes. Nearly two hours wasted so far this morning being redirected via multiple posts trying to figure out how to get custom theme accepted.

Sure, and everything for free, after you paid nothing for the OC-Source! Every PHP Coder, familiar with MVC, would be able, to design a Theme, but only, if one understands the MVC Framework System Way of doing Things itself. And how this works, has been published in several Places, MVC it's not an OC specific THING.
So, just be reasonable, after all, OC comes for free!
