Along with the other problems with the market, there are more than a few mods in the extension market that dont have demo links or their demo is offline. This is kind of a big deal if you're trying to make money as OC Ltd. Demo store links should be a REQUIRED field on the extension pages. This would work to clean up the extension store, offboard crappy devs, and generally increase customer trust in the OC network.
Forced demo link thoughts:
1) Lack of demo increases time wasting/support/emailing on both OC and dev ends
2) Customers will request more refunds because they didn't know what the mod was or got scammed in
3) Forced demo links increase developer quality -- if you make a mod you must showcase it publically
4) There is more consistency -- customers will be able to nav extensions better
Thanks

Some extensions do not have a need for demo (such as a couple of our extensions for shipping / payment).
I may re-think the initial title to: "Make Demo Links a Required Field for Commercial Extensions"
Can you explain further why you wouldn't use a demo for those? How do you protect against time-wasting and refunds? All a customer has to do is say "its not what i thought it was, there was no demo, i need a refund" to get OC involved. I thought about it too brother, i just can't think of a pay extension that doesn't need a demo....even if its just to change the font size on the header or something arbitrary.
Lack of test API hookup should not be an excuse either -- both shipping integrate and gateways have test modes (with bogon card numbers). If someone is developing for a service that does not have test/staging area, perhaps the folks who operate the service would hook the extension developer up with a non-production (or rate/IP limited) account. After all, in those cases, we are basically bringing them profit with time that they never had to pay for.
Just trying to help save time for OC support folks and reduce all the ambiguous mods in the market.
