Is this like the import / export contribution or does it have different functionality?

No. This is meant for customers to allow them to upload files or enter text with their order for a product. For things like custom mugs with pictures and words on them

Hi, does the file upload box appear on every description by default or is it optional (i.e choose not to display it on specific products while doing so on others)?

Thanks

No demo right now. Looks like I'll be updating modules for the next few nights straight. 8)
The roadmap for text/file options is to put them into the global options module so all options can be one happy family & so they can all be applied to any product globally via a checkbox, rather than creating options for every single product every time you want options for a product. Then hopefully Daniel can put it in the core.

I haven't started 1.4.0 version yet. I was just getting a template workflow happening for 1.3.4 then 1.4.0... ::)

These options work exactly the same as the current options except that they are text and file upload options. They will only appear if you create them for that product.

- Size is not limited at the moment.
- You can have as many upload options as you need for one product.
- Folder uploads are not supported. The browser itself doesn't support this. Don't know how you would manage to do that.
- You can enter text options and upload options on the same product. You just have to create the options you need separately.
- At the moment filetypes are controlled from a file in the admin section. You can enable any of the many default filetypes from that file by uncommenting the line that corresponds to the filetype. I've 'enabled' only the most widely used ones like images, word, pdf, excel etc.

Does the text/file upload option for OpenCart 1.3.4 work with the Export/Import Package for OpenCart 1.3.4?

I am new to this board so please forgive any mistakes made by not knowing. Also forgive any language mistakes because I am german.

I used the import/export for 1.3.4 and everything worked fine. Saved me a lot of time.
After adding the text/file upload option to the product page and using import/export afterwards all the options were gone.

Thanks for answering in advance!

No, the import/export module is separate from the text/file upload options.

Yes it works. I don't know if any changes were necessary from older versions but I bought the text/File upload options for OC 1.3.4 from alreadymade.com

I had to change my product page a bit because it was screwed up after adding the text/File upload options.

I am using an Excelfile for all my categories, products, prices, etc. and the import/export package saved me a lot of time.
Now with the knowledge that the text/file upload option doesn't go along with the import/export package the last thing - really the last step is to add the text/file upload option. Since I need this upload option for all my products its a pain in the neck adding the upload option manuelly to every product (Ca. 300 products).
Hopefully in the near future nothing needs to be changed in my Excelfile. I think you can imagine what I will have to do.

The standard product option tab in OC is/was going along with import/export.

I am thinking about buying another Customer upload mod.
