Homepage module for use with OpenCart version 1 (beta). This package enables you to manage your home page by using database tables to contain the entries that are displayed. The display status of each entry is controlled through the administration interface. Contains all necessary controller, language and template files, plus the necessary sql to add the extra tables to your database. Full installation instructions for smooth integration into your website are also included.

Hi geekwant2b,

In the default set up, the only way to manage content that appears on your home page is by directly editing the template file. This package allows you to manage your home page through the administration interface. You can add content (stories, pictures), arrange the order they appear, enable or disable each item. Works on the basis that all enabled items are displayed on the home page in their own story block.

The "Expandable Categories" that I'm using on my own site (which is built on OpenCart 0.7.7) was something I put together when I first built my site. It only expands to one level and doesn't respect sort order. You're better off using Qphoria's "Dynamic Relevant Subcategories" from http://www.opencart.com/contribution/in ... tion_id/59 for that purpose.

Regards, Fido-X.

fido, I'm not getting images preview on the images tab for 0.7.9RC3
I tried to work it out but it was beyond me
It might also be my problem. I don't recall breaking it but I have a habit of breaking Open Cart
It's not important to me but thought I'd let you know
Thanks for fixing the other little issues
Screen dump attached

Geekwant2be,
If you're not familiar with Open Cart, this contribution provides the ability to put a block of html on the front page above the Latest Products
It's like the description for Products, except it is for the home page.
Much easier than typing html directly into the homepage.tpl

Thanks for letting me know about that, I'll have a look into it. There's probably a few glitches still, as it was originally built for 0.7.7.

So I've noticed ;D
Nothing wrong with that though, as it can be fixed so that it doesn't break again (hopefully).

I've tracked down the problem. It would appear that I forgot to include a link to the jquery script. Add the following near the top of the "admin/template/content/homepage.tpl" file (somewhere near the link to the fckeditor script):-

Code: Select all

<script type="text/javascript" src="javascript/ajax/jquery.js"></script>
