And what for the ionCube??
We are here in a GPL world, so every script has to be uncrypted!

It's my decision - EULA licence and thats it. Opencart is GPL but extensions can be other licences. If you don't want it so don't download it. It's very easy. What did you make for free? Share something. Show off your work!

No problem with YOUR decision.
DannyM wrote:Opencart is GPL but extensions can be other licences.
Not correct, if you publish 'your' extension NOT under GPL (and of course NOT encoded) you are violating the GPL which OpenCart is based on and all scripts depending or based on this 'framework' have to be published also under GPL (or less).

I have made enough for this shop and also for free and have nobody to manifest nothing.

Yeah empy (just) words. You have to read more about GPL before you'll comment it

Do what you want.

I recommend everybody NOT to use your extensions when they are encrypted because no one except you knows what you are doing in the background.

I think OSWorX is right.

Extensions should Not be encrypted in my opinion too because I believe that the entire code should be visible to the user.
I certainly wouldn't get near this one.

Because my code is encrypted you think it's worst than others.
I'm real person with 17th years background. You can Google my name and check real people's reviews.
My softwares are safely because is encrypted and no one can change anything and add virus code to them.
Think different!

OSWorX has probably more experience with OC than you do, and he is a highly valued long term member of this community.

Please note that nobody said that your code was worse than others.
We just agree that not being able to see it makes it suspicious.

Do you know me? Do you know my extensions and my background?

Because you don't have knowledge about ionCube. People stealing my software and resale. That's why I used ionCube
It's no magic or suspicious. It's very simple.

Wasting time to answer on such stupid statements.

Finally - and that you should know and everybody else: if someone is using your software he can always ask for the source code and you have to hand it out.

One of the basic principles of the GNU/GPL license which your modules are based on (because OpenCart is).

If you have fear that somebody is 'stealing' your code, you have a problem and should rethink your business model.
