my navigation bar categories disappeared

i tried to rename all the categories so i deleted them then i tried to insert new but its still gone
any suggestions

Make sure that when you create a new category you tick this under data tab in categories.
Top:
Display in the top menu bar.
Only works for the top parent categories.
