Turning Categories into a dropdown as it's in Brands?

I have this just about done:

But I want to be able to show ALL products with subcategories indented so I still have to add that.
Then I'm gonna try to add images to the dropdown, using the category image as the icon. Same as I've done with the brands drop down on my site:

Loved the brand names with the images, really cute, please share with us when you are ready
As for the categories I've tried several things and managed to show them the way they are in brands, but they did not produce any results on click... I am not giving up but any ideas will be highly appreciated

Thanks for the tip. It works like this for the "Brands" and "Shop by Goal" menus, I have no idea what I've missed to do for the Categories. Will you give me a hint how can I fix that? thanks
