In a the default, unedited, Opencart theme, how can I change the color of the breadcrumbs "home" icon, and text?

I have searched for this using Google, followed endless tips and advice, and all to no successful end.

If someone could offer some really specific advice on how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated.

(Help like "Just edit standard info..." or "configure like usual...." is a kind effort, but offers no actual help. I will probably need a little hand holding here)

Hi
add this CSS code:

Code: Select all

.breadcrumb a {
    color: red;
}
to the end of this file:
catalog/view/theme/default/stylesheet/stylesheet.css
Then clear your browser cache and check it.

Hi....Thank you...that seems to work (mostly)...odd, because I tried that earlier, but in the middle of the file.

I say it worked "mostly", because when I cut and pasted the code with the value of "red", the little "home" icon and text turned red. When I changed the color to maroon, the little red "home" icon stayed red, while the text turned maroon. To test further, I specified "lime" as the color, and the text turned lime, but the little 'Home" icon stayed red.

Can the icons only accept certain colors?

Well, some free Mods exist, to make this seemengly complicated
matter a little easier, for some OC2.x + OC 3.x Versions, but possibly
not published in the OC Extension Section.
