Well, there is nothing wrong with OC. Except for possibly the simple Fact,
that latest Versions should not be advertized in a way, to make Necomers
believe, to get the upmost tested Software possible. Or worse, to upgrade
an existing and working OC to the latest Version, in the expectation, to so
get the best, already fully tested, and most secure OC Edition available.
But I am also fully aware of the Fact, that OC cannot pay Testers, or OC could
no longer come for free. It should only be communicated, in a clear and proper
way, combined with a link to the proven best 'former' Version, updated to last
known fixes, by nature of things. Then, many, not only eager to always belong
to the First, would possibly be much more satisfied, instead of getting frustrated,
and eventually even turning away from OC again.
And others would still try the latest Versions, but then, fully aware of the Fact, that
some Problems might still exist, to be reported at the Forum or then Github, and
many Frustrations could be avoided. It would neither harm OC's reputation, nor
have any other negative effects. In contrary, it would make it easier for everybody
involved, to know, to be part of an ongoing Project, where everybody is invited, to
be part of, and play an important role, to make it better, day by day.
It only needs to be clearly said, but that's, what's really missing here. Not only from
OC, but from most everybody involved. Like, I know something, but I don't tell ya ...
But OC is a 'balancing' act, it always was. And actually, it's a plain wonder, that it
ever worked this way. We should all be proud of it ..., playing our minor part.
