I'm having issues with certain aspects of my opencart mainly paypal not passing details over to my store when a purchase is made.

I decided to try a fresh set of Opencart 3.0.2.0 files over the exisiting 3.0.2.0 files incase there was an upload error in the past or along them lines..

I uploaded fresh files and kept my existing config files in the root and admin folder also the original .htaccess files and replaced the rest.

Now on visiting my store page the page is blank, if I try to visit the admin page I get a Http 500 error

I've tried this twice now and I had to reupload the old files I took a backup of and it works again..

Can anyone shed any light on this ?

The mistake you've made is seen a blank screen and panicked.

What you should have done is found what was the actual error message and gone from there.

PHP hides error messages for security these days so you need to be looking at the system log or for a file called error_log.
