Error: Could not make a database link using root@127.0.0.1!

Hi there,

I have installed Opencart and create a database via MySQL workbench. However I cannot connect the database in Configuration with the error: Error: Could not make a database link using root@127.0.0.1!

please check the content at config.php,I guess you have input wrong password..by the way,please donot use root account for security.

Double-check that you have the right port for the database connection.

I had the same issue and it was because of how I was naming my database. I was using & character in the name of the database, as soon as I remove it then the error was gone.
