Hi guys,
We've been using Opencart for quite some time now in it's basic form as we're really not 'techie' in ant way shape or form. One area that we're really struggling with is getting the cart to send a confirmation email to the admins email address in order to warn them an order has been placed (rather than constantly signing into the admin panel and checking). This email address is a gmail account.
We've tried to follow a few online posts to resolve this problem but feel we're getting out of our depth. Any help to resolve the situation would be greatly appreciated.
All we're looking for is for the cart to send an email to our gmail address when an order has been placed, preferably with all the order details but just a notification that an order has been placed would be welcome at this point.
Thanks in advance.

As a new forum user, please read the forum rules. More information is needed. No OC version posted, no screenshots posted about your email configuration (without password) in the OC admin. Also check your admin - > extensions - > events. 33 events must be listed minimum.

In my haste to find a solution to this problem I neglected to follow protocol. My apologies Straightlight.
OC version: 2.3.0.2
Only one event showing against admin > extensions > events as shown on 'Events' screenshot.
I've also included a screenshot of the email configuration.
As stated previously, thank you in advance for assisting us in resolving this issue.

Thanks for the response and the link which we've followed and tried to inwardly digest however we haven't a clue what it all means? Probably assuming we're more advanced with this sort of thing than we actually are.
We honestly thought it would be easy to configure the cart, especially the basics like getting the cart to send an order confirmation email, without having to start altering code etc.
Is anyone able to break this down into plain English for us or is there an online step by step guide anywehere?
Kind regards,

Hi Zoski,
Your mail settings look ok. We actually use G-Suite so use many of the same settings. The only thing that you could try is changing your mail protocol. You are currently using PHP mail and this may have been disabled by your host.....try changing this to "SMTP" and let us know how you get on.

The only option in this case would either download an extension from the Marketplace that may automate those queries. However, code alteration to your database is still required. We honestly thought it would be easy to configure the cart, especially the basics like getting the cart to send an order confirmation email, without having to start altering code etc.
