Hi,
Please help if you can. I have installed Opencart for the first time. There are NO add-ons. All appears correct.
However, It appears that I can delete a product , but I cannot create or edit an existing product.
Same thing with Categories etc... I can delete, but not edit or create.
Thank you!

I am able to change all variables under "Extensions"," Design", "System" etc...
I am unable to edit or create new in "Catalog" - it just hangs when I press Save! But I can delete products under "Catalog".
Please help.
Thanks.

Sounds to me like you need to increase "max_input_vars" in your php.ini to a really high value like 10000 because this has been known to block some of the product edit forms in the admin.

Thanks for the info.
My hosting provider only lets me go to 3500 "max_input_vars" and they set it to 5000. It still does not work.
The want me to go on a dedicated server package -$$
I will send an email to them to try test it at 10000, to see if this is the roure cause.
Thanks again!

Feel free to contact us about hosting with your disk space and bandwidth requirements if you want another option :)

Thanks for the suggestion. My service provider did increase the limit to 10000 (checked by phpinfo.php) but alas, no difference.
Any other ideas? Anyone?

Thanks again.

It could be that your host has a firewall that's blocking form submissions when there is certain content included, that's something else I've seen a lot of times. You could ask them to temporarily disable mod_security

The provider will not do that on any of their managed servers!

So copy the install to another server and if it works there you can prove the problem is their server.

I logged in from my home WiFi this morning on my iPad and it works there!

Thank you for all the suggestions and help - I do appreciate it!

Looks like a MAC filtering restriction in effect from a commercial / work area since from work it is working normally. If from work, consult your IT operations manager so they could submit a new service request to the IT administrators / account management. Take note that these approval requests can be denied due to security clearance levels by IT security management. If from home with your workstation but works on your mobile device, it may be caused by your anti-virus which prevents data to be posted since the location you are attempting to post the data may have been filtered.
