Feature products in menu bar

For a small webshop, I have no need to display categories in the top menu. It would be great to show only the products in the menu.

I assume it is bad practice to hard code links to the products in the menu.twig file, so I am looking for an extension to achieve it. This extension does the same thing for info pages: https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... _license=0

I failed to find one that does it for product pages. Anyone know if that exits? If it doesn't, how should I proceed?

How many products do you want to add to the menu - it will need more room for that depending on the products amount and their names as well.
It can be mixed with categories or only products can be displayed.
