manufacturer layout heading conflicts & layout

I just observed a problem with manufacturer layouts. It will be very kind of you friends to guide me how to solve these 2 problems

1. Manufacturer List: product/manufacturer
If we add any module to left/right etc. column such as featured products then the {{ heading_title }} of that module is rendered instead of {{ heading_title }} from the manufacturer which is by default Find Your Favorite Brand

2. Manufacturer Info: product/manufacturer/info&manufacturer_id=8
There is no layout defined for this page in admin/layouts. How can i assign modules to this page left/right columns?

I have the same problem. I can't modify it.
The slideshow and carousel i added in the home layout are showing on the info page, and i can't get it away..
