This is doing my head in......
I cannot find the htaccess.txt so that I can rename it..... and enable seo url's - I have looked in my public_html folder on my host (which incidentally was uploaded to by my "designer" and let me tell you I use that term loosely !) - I have downloaded the same version of OC my designer used, and I think this file is suposed to be in the upload directory.... but it ain't ! Can someone please help me - I've been looking for hours and I am STUCK !

Check the image I attached. It's in your upload folder. If it's not there I attached it to this post. Just use the one attached.

Thank you very much.... This is the location I have been looking for this file and as previously stated, I cannot see it.

So on my mac, I tried to unzip your file... for some strange reason it wouldn't unzip, it looked like it was, but there was no unzipped file anywhere??? Next I downloaded 2 other Zip programs, same result ! The SEO URL seemed doomed ! After investing about 8 hours in this process so far, I cracked a bottle of red wine, turned of the mac and turned on the TV ! Laying in bed, my head won't get off this problem, so when I got up I fired up an old PC that I have and copied the .zip file onto a usb stick, and hey presto... unzipped first go ! So I copied the htaccses.txt file bask onto the usb (turned off the pc) and plugged the USB back into the mac......... AGHHH - file does not show up = me going MAD

Turned the pc back on (half an hour operation for this dinosaur) - made a new directory on the USB, copied the file agin - still nothing - checked the atributes, wasn't showing hidden or anything.... so renamed the file to "stupidfile" and this time it copied across fine... ftp went no problem, and once in its new home, i renamed it again. SO FAR SO GOOD.

Bothering to post this just in case someone else has this same issue - and perhaps some mac whizz will tell us why...

There's a half a hint in avvici's signature.  If you have a mac, a file starting with a dot will not show up - you have to enable hidden files to see it. Even so, sounds like you checked this and still had to find a workaround?
Hope the wine was good anyway ;)

If you use a Mac, see my suggestion in this topic: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php ... 968#p93482

Again, this proves the point I made here: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=110&t=17360
