I added a VAT rate of 5.5% in the admin area as:
Tax Class » Taxable Goods » 'Worldwide'
Every product has 'taxable goods' as its tax class.
The module is enabled.
The tax still isnt showing up on the cart or order confirmation pages - what should i check next? Anyone had similar problem?

Tax is working OK now, took some probing.
But there is an other problem i can't find.
if the price of a product = 100
Tax is "none" in de productsheet
In general settings display prices with tax = no
Than the shop price = 115,19
After some checking ther seems to be a markup of 15,192497%

Thijs_Verhees - could you detail what you did to make the VAT show up? You mentioned probing...
Daniel - thanks but deleted all cacheing and resaved a few products, even shifted the VAT rate but it still doesnt display. any other ideas?

This solved my problem. The demo customer account had a shipping address outside of the geozone assigned to that tax category.
